Originally built in 1911, the MAUC Center building was constructed as the David Crockett Elementary School. The Mexican American Unity Council, Inc. purchased the building and was renovated in 1976 for office space at a cost of $1.7 million dollars. Today, the building is home to many non-profit agencies and community-oriented businesses. The Mexican American Unity Council manages the building with all the care of a proud owner.
